Eye liner?

Are you suppose to apply eye liner on the top AND bottom?because ive just been putting eye liner on the bottom but ive noticed some people putting it on both.lol,im clueless when it comes to make up.any eye liner tips appreiacted too =) thank you!Eye liner?
It actually depends on what style you'd like to achieve. Some people put a thin line liquid eyeliner along their top lash to make their eyes appear bigger. Others want more of a bold eye makeup look, such as 'cat eyes' or 'smokey eyes,' so they apply a thicker line of eyeliner above their top lashes. OK, some ppl put it only on the top some ppl put it on top and bottom but ive never heard of anyone putting it only on the bottom lol, it depends on what kind of look your going for if you wanna do like a 50's pinup girl look just do winged liquid eye liner on the top and if you want just a little mascara on the bottom but no liner, when i wanna get a smokey look i use Benefit eye liner pencils (i have the dark brown one) they have a soft pencil on one side, and a little sponge on the other great for blending, so always do eye shadow first, (no matter what look your going for or what kind of eye liner your using) then i do a thin line on the top lash line and of you want a little bit on the bottom but never put a thick or dark line on the bottom it would be to harsh. so to get a smudgy smokey look take the other end of the pencil and blend it to make it softer rather than presise, and then finish off with a little mascara and your done. oh ya btw eyeliner was first used by the ancient egyptians and then other ancient royals
when eyeliner was originally invented (somewhere in europe i think) it was meant for only the top. americans started putting it on bottom. usually if you put on the top its to make your eyelashes look thicker.
I have small slanted eyes so I only line the top lids. It is really up to what looks best on you. Lining the top and bottom makes my eyes look smaller.
It all depends on your skin tone and hair colour. Genrally darker hair and skintone can do both but fair skin and hair should stay away as it will look overdone
me too {clueless} i put it on the bottom and alot of mascara on the top :] and i guess it looks ok! :D
u can do either or but it depends on the color of the eyeliner and ur skin but u can put it on however u want
