Eye liner keeps smearing onto top of eyelids?

I wear dark black eyeliner everyday with some brown eye shadow. By the end of the day, however, the black eyeliner has managed to smear off onto the top of my eyelids. What can I do to prevent this?Eye liner keeps smearing onto top of eyelids?
There are several things you can do in combination to help the problem:

1. blot your bare eyelids with tissue or blotting paper to get rid of any oil/moisture before you put on any makeup

2. use an eye primer. some are great oil absorbers, like Too Faced Shadow Insurance

3. put a light layer of skin tone shadow or translucent powder under your brown eyeshadow just to soak up every bit of oil.

4. use a liner that's supposed to be smudgeproof. Urban Decay 24/7 liners work well, so do liquid liners and L'oreal cream liners.

5. Make sure you're not applying the liner with a really heavy hand, or it's more likely to smudge/transfer.

6. You could try tracing over the liner with a black powder shadow. This will make the liner stay longer and intensify the color.

I know this sounds like a lot, but if you only do a couple of these steps, I'm sure you'll see improvement. Even just switching your liner to something that's supposed to be smudgeproof might do the trick.Eye liner keeps smearing onto top of eyelids?
After you put the eyeliner on, load your eyelid/eyeliner line with foundation powder. Put a lot on there and gently press your finger to your eyeliner line to uncover it if there's so much powder that the eyeliner is covered. Once you've done that, Put the eyeshadow on. I hope this helps, because it's what I do everyday!
are you using a smudgeproof eyeliner ? (i know some of them arent really as smudgeproof as they claim haha)

but try liquid eyeliner? i've noticed it smudges less than a pencil eyeliner.

also, carry q-tips in your bag/purse for touch ups. :)
try using a primer than putting on the liner...

or try using a cream liner

Try liquid eyeliner. Or what i do is, i get a lighter and heat up my pencil eyeliner just enough so it doesnt melt, then i put it on and it makes it smudge proof!! hope this helps : ))
