How do you get an eye liner pencil soft enough to use?

I press down on my eye but the line does not show. I try it on my wrist and I can draw a line just fine, but every time I try to use my eyeliner pencil on my eye lid it is to hard. How do you get an eye liner pencil soft enough to use?

ok if u want a good liner then go to a sallys beaty supply and get an eyeliner called';palladio hebal eye liner'; it works amazing becasue i uased to have the same problem as u but i got his and it works like a charm good luck and ps if u have baby blue eyes like me then the ';pure black '; looks best
Growing up I always took a lighter and melted it until the desired softness. This is guaranteed a better answer than the last lol, that's just too much work. This works perfect though.
